For the perfect buttery mashed potato, this luscious combination of milk and cheese and an added workout to boot, will help you mash the blues away if you’re alone on Valentine’s Day.
Check out this recipe and weep:
3-5 Potatoes, peeled and cut into chunks
¼ cup Butter
¾ cup Milk
3 Tbsp Parmesan Cheese
Salt and Pepper, to taste
1) Put potatoes, water and sprinkle some salt in a pot. Cook on medium heat around 25 minutes or until the potatoes are tender.
2) Drain potatoes and return them to the hot pot to cook for 1 more minute to remove excess water.
3) In a small bowl, add milk, cheese and butter and heat in microwave for 2 mins until butter has melted and the milk is hot but make sure it doesn’t boil over .
4) Mash the potatoes in a large bowl and add the warm milk butter cheese mixture. Mix everything together and season well with salt and pepper.
Serve these mashed potatoes on the side with any gravy of your choice, or melted salted butter and a sprinkle of chopped parsley.
